November is here already! Can you
believe it? I made my first “real”, official deadline of November 1 for
Cowboy In Paradise, a novella for The Cowboy anthology coming from
Kensington Aphrodisia in August 2006. I love the beach—as you can probably tell
from my web site and my first book, Pleasure Beach. So it was only
natural, when Kensington invited me to participate in The Cowboy
anthology, that I would write a story about a cowboy…at the beach.
Tyler Last
is tired of the life on the professional rodeo circuit. Not to mention the
string of faceless women he’s slept with. A beach bum at heart, he heads for
Paradise Beach and his grandmother’s estate on Paradise Cove to plan the rest of
his life. But instead of the peace and quiet he’d anticipated, lazy days spent
soaking up rays, he’s catapulted into a huge construction project that threatens
to forever change his beloved beach—and meets the love of his life…while she is
dressed as the Grim Reaper, protesting the building on the beach. Jim, his
quarter horse, plays an unlikely matchmaker.
Now I am busily working toward my
next deadline for All That Glitters, a romantic comedy I like to refer to
as an adult variation of The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants. (But not
really)
In Wild Thing (Book 1 of
All That Glitters), discover what happens when a simple transposition of
numbers lands Maggie on a honeymoon cruise instead of the singles cruise she’d
dreamed of.
Hold Me, Thrill Me (Book
2) is a real life lesson proving things aren’t always as they seem. Stranded on
a tropical island by her no-good-worm-of-a-boyfriend, the heroine has no choice
but to work in a dockside bar until she can save enough money to go back to the
states and extract her revenge. Then she meets Jean, the hunky French waiter,
and discovers the age-old language of love. Sex needs no translation.
Unfortunately, everything else does. Enjoy the journey, along with a comedy of
errors and faux pas created from the heroine’s less-than-perfect French, on the
way to true love.
Light My Fire (Book 3) was,
for me, the most fun. What happens when a woman whose biological clock is
ticking, making her desperate to make Mr. Right Now into The One? Her
victim—er, boyfriend—is the stereotypical commitment-phobe.
But our heroine can’t see that he’s just not that into her. She’s so sure the boyfriend will pop the question—or at least
make some sort of commitment—when he finally agrees to take her away. He
chooses a ski resort—in August, because of the great rates (that alone would have
tipped me off). Once in their private suite, he chooses work over her, leaving
her on her own. As luck would have it, she falls into a hot tub with the man
fate had in store for her all along. And he is into her—in every sense
of the word!
I should probably mention my
contests, huh? My first contest is a drawing for an embroidered t-shirt to
celebrate the release of Pleasure Beach. The first month of its release, it
will be a simple drawing, but the next contest will require that you actually
read the book to get a chance to win—there will be a test! And yes, I did the
embroidery on the shirts with my new, spiffy, embroidery machine.
As the August 2006 release date
for Cowboy In Paradise draws near, we will also have a contest to
win…something cowboy related.
For my 2007 release of All That
Glitters, there will be two prizes: a copy of the “inspiration piece” silk
scarf that appears in all three stories AND my “Take A Walk On The Wild
Side” pillow as the Grand Prize.
More prizes will be posted as I—or
my web site wizard—think of them.
Thank you for visiting my web
site—come back often!
